What the Heck Happened to Mark McGrath?

Remember when Mark McGrath (of Sugar Ray) was hot? No? Well, remember when he was an okay-looking guy in a muscley, tattooed band front-man kind of way? Sometimes mistaken for a totally hot "Reality Bites" Ethan Hawke? Still no? Well, pretend like you do to amuse me, mmmkay?

I recently saw him on a re-run of "Don't Forget the Lyrics" (don't judge me! Sometimes I can't sleep, and it's nice to watch whatever is on the TV or OnDemand at 3 o'clock in the morning instead of just staring at my ceiling in the dark. And considering I have really bad eyesight, that ends up just being me staring at the darkness. Not really that amusing.) Anyhoo, he looked scary! And not like scary good. No, it was like one of those Discovery Channel after-plastic-surgery-scared-straight-documentary thingies. Not. Good. I don't know if he overdid the Botox or if he got a facelift, but whatever it is, it's bad. Why do people do this to themselves? Especially men, who can have wrinkles and gray hair and still look distinguished. If you get a chance, watch the video here. If not, I found some pics too, but the video tells the story. Trust me.

  7. I saw him on Wendy Williams & I thought he had had a stroke or really bad plastic surgery. Something went wrong either way.

  10. He definably got a brow lift at least. Its almost exact to the one Fergie got. No biggie really though...hes a grown man and can do as he pleases. Although for me aging naturally is more attractive then trying to outrun it through plastic surgery and botox lol.

  11. I am just seeing him in the after. He use to be a good looking guy, now he looks frightening. Plastic surgery might be a good option for people who are disfigured but just to avoid aging signs is crazy. Aging doesn"t make a person look bad. If we're lucky we get to do it.

  12. This is wild because my boyfriend found "Don't Forget The Lyrics," and I was like "Oh my God, is that Mark McGrath? What the hell happened to his face?" Then I had to look up what happened and I found this blog. Wow, someone else watches the show too and feels the same way. He was so gorgeous in the 90's. I also noticed the camera never gets up close to his face. Poor guy. He should have left his face alone. His dimples are even missing.

  14. I just saw Mark at a hotel. My wife and I took a picture with him. A real nice guy and very polite. He looked like a regular family guy. No sign of plastic surgery.

  15. I live in Beverly Hills and I see plastic surgery every day. It still weirds me out. I can glock plastic surgery a mile away. Mark has had either cheek implants or filler, rhinoplasty, brow lift, botox, restilin. And whoever does his makeup, does a bad job. His bronzer is the wrong color.

He use to be so hot... this is why people shouldn't party so hard. Drinking and drugs suck! I guess he is 45... but damn! He has an old man face with the same hairdo he's had since his Sugar Ray days

  16. Just came across him right now on Killer Karaoke and almost didn't recognize him. He looks awful!! I could tell right away he had plastic surgery. And his makeup is terrible and caked on. So sad. He was so cute

  17. Just admiring your work and wondering how you managed this blog so well. It’s so remarkable that I can't afford to not go through this valuable information whenever I surf the internet! botox forehead

  18. I think your memory may be playing tricks on you. Mark McGrath was never muscley at all. You may be thinking of the lead singer from Crazy Town; they were a group with a similar, cheesy vibe with a megahit with a vaguely similar vibe to "Fly": "Butterfly," two years later. Understandable to get them confused!
